If you’re looking for a healthy but delicious Valentine treat, these dried apricot halves dipped in dark chocolate and sprinkled with chopped pistachios and orange zest are super quick, easy to make and hard to resist. They make a great gift and are a gluten free treat any time of the year.
Dark Chocolate Dipped Apricots with Pistachios and Orange
Ingredients:
2 oz of good quality dark chocolate, melted
2 T finely chopped toasted and unsalted pistachios
1T finely grated orange zest
Method: Cover your counter with a piece of wax paper. Dip half of each apricot in the melted chocolate and set on the wax paper. Sprinkle the chocolate with the pistachios then top with some zest. Let set about an hour until chocolate has lost its shine. Keep in an air tight container for up to a week.
This looks delicious and I bet it would be very good with salted pistachios. I love sea salt on dark chocolate. My favorite!
Me too Sigrid! They were so easy but really good. Was almost embarassed to post something so simple but my husband, a non apricot lover, raved about them so….I posted them! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Great idea 🙂 Thanks!
What a brilliant idea, apricots and chocolate? I wouldn’t feel so guilty if I had more than one. These are just lovely and festive for V-Day. 🙂
Usually I just dip them in chocolate for a quick sweet snack. Adding the nuts and zest made them sooooo over the top good. 5 minutes of work! Done!
